Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said that despite the challenges of the lockdown, all government employees will receive their full salaries for the month of June.
In a tweet he said: “I am pleased to share that the complete salary of Assam Government employees for June will be released on 1st July. Despite the apparent challenges and financial constraints, we’re trying our best to ensure the least problems for all. We highly value your patience and understanding”.
At a time when the pandemic coronavirus and the resultant lockdown have crippled the economies of the nations, this will come as a relief to many of the government employees staring at uncertain times.
