The 136th birth anniversary of Dr B. R. Ambedkar is being observed with due reverence across Tripura today.
The central commemorative programme was held at the Ujjayanta Palace premises in Agartala, where ministers Sudhangshu Das and Kishor Barman, along with the acting Zilla Sabhadhipati of West Tripura, paid floral tributes to Ambedkar’s statue. Students and various organisations also participated in the homage.
At the State BJP office, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and State president MP Rajib Bhattacharjee led party members in offering tributes. Meanwhile, the 136th Ambedkar Jayanti was also observed at Gandhigram Bazaar, organised by the Tripura Tapashili Jati Somonwoy Samiti, with participation from local leaders, including MLA Nayan Sarkar.

Community and Social Service: In South Tripura’s Santirbazar, the BJP Mandal Committee conducted a humanitarian drive, distributing fruits and sweets at the District Hospital to honour Ambedkar’s dedication to public welfare.
