Three terrorists, including a top commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), were killed in an encounter with security forces in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir last night.

The encounter broke out in the Gund Brath area of Sopore when Army, Jammu & Kashmir Police and CRPF launched a joint operation to flush out terrorists. Police said, three slain terrorists include top LeT commander Mudasir Pandit, who was involved in the killing of three policemen, two councillors and two civilians recently.

Security forces have launched several operations in and around Sopore after a terror attack in the North Kashmir town on June 12. The attack by LeT terrorists drew widespread condemnation from across the political spectrum.
