New Zealand need 280 runs to win Kanpur Test on final day with 9 wickets in hand

New Zealand will resume Day 5 this morning at the overnight score of 4 for 1. For visitors, Tom Latham at 2 and William Somerville at 0 are at the crease.

Earlier, partnership between Shreyas Iyer and Wriddhiman Saha helped India to take hold of the match on Day 4 of the first Test at Green Park Stadium. India declared their second innings at 234 for 7 towards the end of the day’s play, setting the target of 284 for visitors. Wriddhiman Saha at 61 and Axar Patel at 28 remained unbeaten.

Before the stumps were drawn on day four, New Zealand scored 4 runs losing the wicket of Will Young to Ravichandran Ashwin.

With nine wickets to go and plenty of turn and bounce with the new ball, an interesting final day is up for the cricket lovers.
