Mumbai Indians beat DC, help RCB to reach IPL play-offs

Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by five wickets at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai last night helping Royal Challengers Bangalore qualify for the playoffs with DC crashing out of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League.

Put into bat first, Delhi posted 159 for seven in the stipulated 20 overs with the help of Rovman Powell’s 43 and Rishabh Pant’s 39 runs. For Mumbai, Jasprit Bumrah scalped three wickets while Ramandeep Singh picked up two wickets.

In reply, Mumbai overhauled the target for the loss of five wickets in 19.1 overs riding on Ishan Kishan’s 48 runs, Dewald Brevis’s 37 and Tim David’s quick nock of 34 in just 11 balls. For Delhi, Shardul Thakur and Anrich Nortje bagged two wickets each.

With this win, Royal Challengers Bangalore have qualified for the playoffs while Delhi Capitals have crashed out of this edition of the IPL.

Today, Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Punjab Kings at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai at 7:30 PM.
