Lakshya Sen enters final of All England Open Badminton Championships

Lakshya sen cruised into the finals of Men’s Singles of the All England Open Badminton Championship 2022 after a nail-bitting semifinal match last night. The first game was won by Lakshya sen by 21-13, while the second game was won by Lee Zii jia by 21-12 and the third game was won by 21-19.

Twenty-year-old Sen became only the fourth men’s singles player after Prakash Nath, Prakash Padukone and Pullela Gopichand to reach the final. Sen is now one step away from becoming only the third Indian ever to win the prestigious tournament.

In the other match of day, Indian doubles pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand lost to Chinese pair of Zhang Shu Xian and  Zheng Yu in straight games 17-21, 16-21 in the women’s semifinals.

Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has congratulated shuttler Lakshya Sen on entering the finals of the All England Open Badminton 2022. In a tweet, Mr Thakur said, this is truly historic. He conveyed best wishes to Lakshay Sen for the finale.
