KKR defeats Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in IPL match

Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai last night in their IPL match. Chasing a target of 153 runs, set by Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders overhauled the target, scoring 158 for three in 19.1 overs. Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh played the unbeaten knocks. Nitish with 48 runs, Rinku with 42, and Shreyas Iyer with 34 runs chipped in the useful contribution.

Earlier, put in to bat, Rajasthan Royals posted 152 for five in the stipulated 20 overs, courtesy of a half-century by captain Sanju Samson. Tim Southee was in good form for Kolkata Knight Riders and bagged two wickets.

With the win, Kolkata Knight Riders have now moved to the 7th spot on the points table with eight points from ten matches this season. Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, remain at the third spot with 12 points from ten matches. Rajasthan Royals have so far won six and lost four games this season.

Today, Gujarat Titans will take on Punjab Kings at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai at 07:30 PM.
