India will take on Pakistan in T-20 Asia Cup in Dubai today after qualifying for the Super 4 stage of the tournament. The match will start at 7:30 pm Indian time. India are at the top of the table with four points from two wins in as many matches.
Pakistan finished second with one win in two matches and two points. Indian All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the rest of the Asia Cup squad due to a knee injury. Axar Patel will replace him on the team. All India Radio will broadcast running commentary on the match in Hindi and English.
Last night, Sri Lanka defeated Afghanistan by four wickets in the first match of the Super Four phase in Sharjah. Chasing a target of 176 runs, Sri Lanka made 179 for the loss of six wickets in 19.1 overs.
For Sri Lanka, openers Pathum Nissanka with 35 and Kusal Mendis with 36 gave Sri Lanka a flying start. However, Danushka Gunathilaka with 33 and Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s 31 power-hitting swung the match back in Sri Lanka’s favour.
Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field against Afghanistan. Batting first, Rahmanullah Gurbaz played a counter-attacking 84 while Ibrahim Zadran also played a knock of 40 as Afghanistan went on to post a total of 175 for six in the stipulated 20 overs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz was declared player of the match.
