India to resume their 2nd innings at overnight score of 85 for 2 in Johannesburg Test today

India will resume their second innings against South Africa at the overnight score of 85 for 2 in the Second Cricket Test at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg today. India were leading South Africa by 58 runs when stumps were drawn yesterday.

Ajinkya Rahane on 11 and Cheteshwar Pujara on 35 were at the crease after the visitors lost two wickets early in their second innings. For South Africa, Duanne Olivier and Marco Jansen picked one wicket each.

Earlier, the hosts were bowled out for 229 in their first innings after Shardul Thakur returned with the figures of 7 for 61 for the Indian team. Shardul’s figures are also the best by an Indian bowler in South Africa. Apart from Thakur, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah picked two wickets each.

India were bowled out for 202 in their first innings. The Proteas had taken a 27-run first-innings lead. India had won the opening Test beating the hosts by 113 runs in Centurion to take a 1-0 lead in the three-test match series.
