India snatches a memorable draw from Australia in Sydney test

The Third Cricket Test between India and Australia at Sydney ended in a draw. Chasing an imposing target of 407 runs set by the hosts the visitors put up 334 runs for the loss of five wickets on the last day of the match. Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant fought back valiantly. Pujara scored 77 runs. Pant slammed 97 runs, but fell just three runs short of his century.

Then, the pair of Hanuma Vihari and Ravichandran Ashwin, batted for more than three hours. Ravichanran Ashwin remained not out for 39 and consumed 128 balls where as Vihari scored a gritty unbeaten knock off 23 off 161 balls and saved the match.

For Australia, Josh Hazlewood and Lyon scalped two wickets each and Pat Cummins took one whereas Mitchell Starc and Cameron Green remained wicketless. The four-match Test series is currently tied at 1-1, with the final match set to begin in Brisbane on Friday.
