The India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 match in Pallekele has been called off due to rain. India batted first after winning the toss and posted 266 in 48.5 overs. Pakistan did not get a chance to bat due to persistent rain. Both teams get one point each due to the no result. India will next face Nepal at the same venue on September 4.

There was an inspection at 9:00 PM IST and players had begun warming up, but it started drizzling again, after which the covers were put on again and the writing was on the wall.

Rain stopped play for the second time with the Men in Blue were in trouble at 51/3 after 11.2 overs. Shubman Gill was batting on 6 off 24 and Ishan Kishan on 2 off 6 when play was halted. Gill was eventually dismissed for 10 off 32 balls.
