India beat England by 10 wickets in third Test in Ahmedabad, take 2-1 lead

India defeated England by 10 wickets inside two days in the third Test in Ahmedabad on Thursday. Having bowled England out for 112 on Day 1, India began the day 99 for 3 but England triggered a collapse as India slumped from 98 for 2 to be all out for 145.

England captain Joe Root, at best a part-time spinner, took staggering career-best figures of 5 for 8 — his first five-wicket haul in first-class cricket — to hasten India’s demise. Left-arm spinner Jack Leach bagged 4 for 54. Only four Indian batsmen reached the double figures in their first innings, with Rohit Sharma being the highest scorer with 66 off 96 balls.

Meanwhile Indian fans are very happy with India’s grand victory over England in the third Cricket Test. India is now leading the four-match series with 2-1 unbeatable lead. AIR correspondent reports Indian players celebrated their victory and Ravichandran Ashwin’s 400 wickets record with a special cake in Ahmedabad hotel. Ashwin makes a history by completing his 400 test wickets. Man of the Match Akshar Patel also took 10 plus wickets on his home turf.

This was the 22nd instance that a test match did not last for even two full days. Cricket lovers in Ahmedabad are very happy with the outcome that put India 2-1 ahead in the four test series, but the cricket lovers are not happy with England- the way they concede defeat. Now, the fans are expecting some fight back from English players in the fourth test, which will be played at the same venue.
