BCCI approves Rs 10 crore to support India’s Olympic campaign

BCCI Apex Council has approved up to Rs 10 crore to support India’s forthcoming Olympic campaign in Tokyo. The BCCI apex council sanctioned the proposal in an emergent meeting after it received a request from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

The apex council has decided to release Rs 2.5 crore liquid funds and a maximum of Rs 7.5 crore for running a promotional campaign in the lead-up to the Olympics. Meanwhile, England all-rounder Ben Stokes was on the winning side in his first game since breaking a finger in April as Durham defeated Birmingham Bears by 22 runs at the Riverside in the T20 Blast. The England all-rounder made 29 off 18 balls, took a wicket and a brilliant catch as Durham registered their fourth win.
