Australia resume first innings from 156 for 4, with a lead of 47 runs against India on day two of the Indore test

Australia will resume their first innings from the overnight score of 156 for 4, with a lead of 47 runs, against India on day two of the third Test of the Border Gavaskar trophy at Indore.

India was all out for 109 runs in 33.2 overs in their first innings yesterday. Virat Kohli finished as the highest scorer, managing 22 before being trapped LBW by Todd Murphy. Australian spinners trio C Alex Carey B M Kuhnemann and B Lyon ripped through India’s fragile batting lineup. India had won the toss and opted to bat first but the move backfired as the hosts lost seven wickets in the opening session.

India has retained the trophy, winning the first two Tests of the four-match series.
