Last Updated: Sept. 30, 2023. 10.21 PM. On Day 7 of the ongoing Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China, India added 2 Gold, 2 Silver, and a Bronze to take its overall medals tally to 38, with 10 Gold, 14 Silver, and 14 Bronze.
The Indian athletes continued their strong showing at the ongoing games on Saturday.
Kartik Kumar and Gulveer Singh won silver and bronze medals respectively in the men’s 10,000m final, while Rohan Bopanna and Rutuja Bhosale won gold in the mixed doubles tennis final.
The Indian trio of Saurav Ghosal, Abhay Singh, and Mahesh Mangaonkar won gold in the men’s team squash event, while Sarabjot Singh and Divya TS won silver in the 10m air pistol mixed team final.
In badminton, India won the men’s team semifinal against Korea by 3-2 and will face China in the finals tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Preeti and Lovlina Borgohain also assured India of medals by entering the semifinals of their respective boxing categories. Nikhat Zareen already qualified for the semis yesterday. All three women boxers have also sealed their place in the Olympics.
Tomorrow will be an important day for the Indian athletes with several medal matches lined up for the participants. Women’s Heptathlon Long Jump and 800m final, Men’s Shot put, Men’s 3000m SC, Women’s Discus, and Women’s 1500m final will also be taking place tomorrow. India will be looking forward to taking their medal tally to further heights.
