Southwest Monsoon Advances Further Into Remaining Parts Of Central, North Arabian Sea. IMD.

Southwest monsoon has further advanced into the remaining parts of the central Arabian Sea, some parts of the north Arabian Sea and Maharashtra including Mumbai today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast ‘heavy’ to ‘very heavy’ rainfall with isolated extremely heavy falls over south Konkan, Goa, south Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal and North Interior Karnataka till tomorrow.

 
The weather department has also forecast light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and winds gusting up to 40 kmph over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 7 days.
 
The IMD also forecast that a fresh spell of heat wave conditions have commenced over Northwest India from today. Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, West Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are very likely to witness heat wave conditions till Thursday.

It added that heat wave conditions are likely to continue over parts of East India and Uttar Pradesh during the next 5 days.
