PM Modi announces extension of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra to next month following overwhelming response across the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reiterated his government’s resolve to provide nutrition and health guarantee to all citizens of the country. Interacting with beneficiaries of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra through video conferencing today, Mr Modi said, in the last nine years more than 25 crore people have come out from the poverty. He said, the government is committed to defeat poverty by providing transparent and efficient governance. He added that over four crore people have been provided pucca house in the past ten years.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has completed two months and the government is aiming to take all its schemes to saturation level through this yatra. He said, the Yatra will also continue in the next month as it is getting huge response from the people across the country. He said, Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has become Jan Andolan and so far, 15 crore people have participated in the Yatra. The Prime Minister said, 70 to 80 percent panchayats have been covered by the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.

The Prime Minister’s interacted with M Mallikarjuna Reddy of Karimnagar, Telangana, a farmer who is involved in animal husbandry and horticulture. Mr Reddy is B Tech graduate and a former employee of a software company. He said education has helped him to become a better farmer. Mr Modi asked him to meet students and encourage the educated youth to enter the agriculture sector.

Prime Minister Modi interacted with Mamta Dhindhore of Dungarpur, Rajasthan who is self employed under Gramin Ajivika Mission and is attached to a self help group. Mr Modi also interacted with Kalpana Bai, a transgender from Mumbai who runs Sai Kinnar Bachat Self Help Group. Prime Minister Modi said that for the last nine years, the government is making an effort to empower women through self help groups. He reiterated the plan to create two crore Lakhpati Didis and emphasized the role of self help groups like hers in this project.
