The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has suspended three officials of its Building Department with immediate effect for dereliction of duty and negligence in dealing with unauthorised construction.
The suspension includes Assistant Engineer and two Junior Engineers. The action has been taken for dereliction of duty and negligence in the discharge of official responsibilities, in accordance with applicable service rules and orders of the competent authority.
MCD has made it clear that negligence or dereliction of duty in dealing with unauthorised construction will not be tolerated. Field-level officials have been directed to remain vigilant and ensure timely action against violations as per prescribed rules and procedures.
The Corporation has reiterated that strict accountability will be maintained at all levels and officials found failing to discharge their duties properly will face action under applicable rules.
