The first session of the newly formed Delhi Assembly concluded today. A total of five sittings were held during this session which started on the 24th of the last month. During this session, newly elected members took oaths including discussions on various important subjects.

BJP MLA Vijender Gupta was unanimously elected as the Speaker of the Assembly. Further, the second day of the session witnessed the address of Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena. During the proceedings, 21 MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party were suspended for 3 days due to creating disruption and their unruly behavior.
After the Lieutenant Governor’s speech, the much-discussed CAG report on the excise policy of the previous Aam Aadmi Party was presented in the House. In this report, a revenue loss of more than two thousand crore rupees to the government was reported. Apart from this, during this session, the CAG report on health services during the previous regime was also presented in the House.
During this session of the newly formed government, Mohan Singh Bisht was appointed Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.
