Amazon Web Services plans to invest about 8.2 billion dollars in Maharashtra.

A team from Amazon Web Services, led by its South Asia and India President Sandeep Dutta, met with Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi today.

During the meeting, the team outlined their plan to invest about 8.2 billion dollars in Maharashtra in the coming years. Briefing the media in New Delhi after the meeting, Mr Vaishnaw said that Amazon Web Services plans to deploy some of the best computing facilities and cloud management services in the country.

The Minister added that this will generate a significant number of jobs in the coming years. “The team of Amazon Web Services explained their entire plan of investing about $8.2 billion in Maharashtra in the coming few years,” Vaishnaw said while addressinf reporters in the capital. “They are very optimistic about growth in India.

They are bringing latest technologies, they are deploying the latest GPUs which is what they shared today. They are deploying some of the best compute facilities and the cloud Management Services in India.”
