ED conducts search operations in Srinagar in connection with investigation into terror financing case.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting search operations at four premises in Srinagar in connection with an ongoing investigation into a terror financing case involving Umar Adil Dar and his associates.

According to ED officials, the investigation pertains to allegations that Umar Adil Dar was functioning as an Over Ground Worker (OGW) of the banned terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and was actively involved in activities linked to the outfit.

The ongoing searches are aimed at tracing the proceeds of crime, identifying financial networks and funding channels, establishing links with handlers based across the border and unearthing further evidence related to the alleged terror financing activities.

ED alleged that Umar Adil Dar, along with his associates, had earlier been apprehended while in possession of a substantial amount of cash and incriminating literature related to the banned organisation.

The investigation has further revealed that Dar had previously spent approximately four years in jail in connection with his alleged involvement in separatist and anti-India activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
