Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today distributed bicycles to 3,000 girl students of government schools under the Vidya Vahini Yojana.
In a social media post, Ms Gupta said the initiative will make it easier for girl students to commute to school, improve attendance, encourage greater participation in studies and sports, reduce the financial burden on families, and boost the confidence of young girls.
The Chief Minister said the Delhi Government is committed to extending the benefits of the scheme to more than one lakh forty thousand Class 9th girl students studying in government schools across the national capital.
Union Minister of State and Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra, Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood, MLA Ravinder Negi, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
