The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has carried out its largest-ever operation against illegal coal mining in the Karkatta forest of the Piparwar area in Khalari, Ranchi district, seizing around 200 tonnes of illegally mined coal.
Led by Commandant Amit Kumar, a joint team comprising the CISF, Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) management and the McCluskieganj Police conducted an extensive search operation involving nearly 70 personnel. The operation uncovered a well-organised illegal coal mining network operating inside the forest.
Officials described the operation as a major crackdown on organised illegal coal mining and smuggling in the region. They said stringent legal action will be taken against those involved.
The CISF reiterated its commitment to protecting national assets and said similar large-scale operations against illegal mining will continue in the future.
