Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar today arrived in Srinagar on a three-day official visit to Jammu and Kashmir.
During his stay, the Chief Election Commissioner will take part in various programmes across the Kashmir Valley, aimed at engaging with voters and electoral stakeholders and review grassroots-level electoral initiatives.
The visit is part of the Election Commission of India’s efforts to strengthen voter engagement, enhance field-level preparedness, and promote greater democratic participation and awareness.
Speaking on his arrival, Mr Kumar said he would also interact with grassroots-level Booth Level Officers of Budgam district, describing them as the cornerstone of the Election Commission.
