Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt on June 27 announced that she and her husband Ranbir Kapoor are expecting their first child together.
The versatile actress took to Instagram to share a picture from an ultrasound session at a hospital with Ranbir. Alia captioned the photo by saying “Our baby ….. coming soon.”
29-year-old Alia Bhatt and 39-year-old Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony at their Bandra home on April 14, surrounded by their family and closest friends.
While the news has come as a surprise to many, it now seems that Ranbir hinted at a baby on its way during his recent ‘Shamshera’ promotions.
When asked about how much more work he will do post-marriage, Ranbir said that he has to make a family and will also have the chance to do lots of work.
“Abhi mujhe bahot kaam karna hai sir. Abhi mujhe family banani hai, unke liye kaam karna hai. Pehle mai khudke liye kaam karraha tha. Nahi nahi, abhi mai bahot kaam karunga,” he said.
On his life after marriage, Ranbir further said, “I used to say in films that ‘shaadi is like dal chaawal till you die and life mein thoda tangdi kebab, hakka noodles hona chahiye (referring to his famous dialouge in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani)… but boss, zindagi ke tajurbe ke baad I would say dal chaawal he best hai. Alia mere dal chaawal mein tadka hai, achaar hai, pyaaz hai, sab kuch hai. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner.”
Meanwhile, as far as work front is concerned, the couple is set to share screen space for the first time in “Brahmastra: Part One Shiva”, scheduled to be released on September 9.
