Six airbag rules for passenger cars deferred by year to 2023

The government has deferred a proposal to make six airbags mandatory in cars by one year to 1st of October 2023.

In a series of tweets, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said the decision has been taken considering the global supply chain constraints being faced by the auto industry and its impact on the macroeconomic scenario.

He added that the safety of all passengers traveling in motor vehicles irrespective of their cost and variants is the foremost priority.
