Shah to move Criminal Procedure (Identification) Bill, 2022 in RS today

Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to move the Criminal Procedure (Identification) Bill, 2022 in Rajya Sabha today. The bill seeks to authorise for taking measurements of convicts and other persons for the purposes of identification and investigation in criminal matters and to preserve records. Loksabha had already passed the Bill.

Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda is also scheduled to move the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2022 in the Upper House. The Bill will further amend the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order, 1950 for inclusion of certain community in the list of Scheduled Tribes in relation to the State of Tripura.

In Lok Sabha, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar is scheduled to move the Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Delivery Systems
(Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Amendment Bill, 2022. The Bill will amend the Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Act, 2005. The situation in Ukraine will also be discussed in the lower house.
