Monsoon covers entire Northeast, advances to parts of Maharashtra, Telangana, AP

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that the southwest monsoon has further advanced into the central Arabian Sea, covering several parts of the country, including the entire northeastern region.

Monsoon has also advanced in some more parts of Maharashtra,Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Bay of Bengal. It has also advanced in the entire parts of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, entire northeastern states and most parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

Due to the strengthening of southwesterly winds and a cyclonic circulation over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and neighborhood, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall activity is likely over Northeastern states and adjoining East India during next 4-5 days.
