5th phase of polling for 61 Assembly seats to be held tomorrow in UP; Campaigning for 1st phase of polling ends today in Manipur

In Uttar Pradesh, polling parties are being dispatched to their respective polling centres for the fifth phase of elections on 61 Assembly seats scheduled tomorrow.  The state is going for polls in 7 phases from 10 February to 7th March.

The 12 districts which will go for poll tomorrow are Sravasti Bahraich Gonda Barabanki, Sultanpur Ayodhya, Pratapgarh Prayagraj, Kaushambi Raebareli, Amethi and Chitrakoot. These districts are spread From Bundelkhand to owadh region. An interesting fight is at Sirathu constituency of Kaushambi district from where Deputy Chief Minister of state Keshav Prasad Maurya is contesting and Pallavi Patel, who happens to be sister of apna dal’s leader Anupriya Patel and her party ‘apna dal kamerawadi’ has alliance with Samajwadi Party is fighting against Keshav. Religious places of Uttar Pradesh like Ayodhya Prayagraj and Chitrakoot will go for poll In this phase. many ministers in state government including Siddharth Nath Singh, Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi and  Chandrika Upadhyay are contesting in this phase.In Manipur, voting for first phase polls will be held on Monday.

Campaigning will come to a close by four PM this evening. Political parties have upped the campaigning to woo voters. In phase one, voting for 38 assembly constituencies spread across five electoral districts will be held.

 With only two days left for voting, unprecedented election campaigning has seen in 38 assembly constituencies in Manipur which voting will be held on February 28. Leaders of political parties are engaging door to door campaign and street corner meeting while party workers are busy in campaigning through audio visual mode and rallies. Meanwhile, political parties are also started planning to mount political campaign for second phase polls in Manipur. BJP leader Amit Shah is visiting Manipur on March second for elections campaign for second phase. He will attend election rallies in Thoubal and Tamenglong district. Voting for second phase will be held on March 5 and counting of votes for both phases will be held on March 10.
