India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red color warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall over Uttarakhand and West Uttar Pradesh today.
The Weather agency has forecast heavy rainfall over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh for the day. According to IMD, Andaman and Nicobar Islands are likely to witness thundersqualls till tomorrow.
The Met Department has also predicted thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and West Uttar Pradesh for next two to three days.
Similar conditions are likely to prevail over Andhra Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana, Uttarakhand, West Bengal and Sikkim today. IMD has said that Assam, Meghalaya, East Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura will experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning.
The Weather Agency has advised fishermen not to venture into Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal till Tuesday.
Meanwhile, IMD has forecast a generally cloudy sky with a low probability of very light to light rain accompanied with thunderstorms in the National Capital.
