The Northern Railway has officially renamed Kathua Railway Station in the Jammu Division as “Martyr Captain Sunil Kumar Choudhary Kathua” Railway Station with immediate effect.
Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that a circular issued on July 17 said the station’s new alpha code will be MSKT, replacing KTHU, while all other particulars remain unchanged.
The station will appear as “MC Sunil Kathua” in the Unreserved Ticketing System and Passenger Reservation System.
Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh announced the decision through a social media post and congratulated the people of Kathua, describing the move as a tribute to the martyr’s sacrifice and service to the nation.
