In Maharashtra, ahead of the upcoming state Assembly polls, the Election Commission has announced the Special Summary Revision 2024. Under the program, the the Election Commission is focused on establishing polling booths in large housing societies.
The poll panel will appoint the presidents and secretaries of Cooperative Housing Societies as booth-level volunteers to update the electoral list. These volunteers are tasked with updating the names of eligible voters and removing names of residents who have left the society or deceased persons in the society.
To establish a booth in the housing society, the society needs to contact the nearest Booth Level Officer. The society can also submit an application online on the Election Commission website through the following Google forms.
The Chief Election Officer urged housing societies to take steps to establish voting booths in convenient and nearby locations for voters.
