Chief Election Commissioner of India Rajeev Kumar has appealed to all eligible citizens to participate in the nationwide Special Summary Revision of the voters’ list starting today. He said this, after participating in a bicycle rally at Pune city in Maharashtra to create awareness about voter registration.
Earlier the CEC participated in a cycle rally at Shree Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Sports Complex in the Balewadi area of Pune which was flagged off by voter representatives. Election Commissioner Anup Chandra Pandey, State Chief Electoral Officer Shrikant Deshpande, Pune Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, Collector of Pune Rajesh Deshmukh, Olympian Anjali Bhagwat, film director Nagraj Manjule and voters from all walks of life were present on this occasion.
The Election Commission of India conducts Special Summary Revision to enroll unenrolled eligible citizens during the month of October -November every year.

The Election Commissioners are attending various events in Pune city to increase voter awareness. Later in the day the ECs will interact with the representatives of Voter Awareness Forums established in various industrial organizations in Hinjewadi area in a program organized to increase the participation of organized and unorganized workers in the industrial sector in the election process.
