Public gatherings banned surrounding Dhaka Cantonment, other key areas of Dhaka. ISPR Bangladesh.

In Bangladesh, the Inter-Services Public Relations, ISPR has announced a ban on all meetings, rallies, processions, protests, and demonstrations in areas surrounding the Dhaka Cantonment and other key parts of the capital city. The ban will take effect from Sunday and remain in place until further notice.

According to a release from the ISPR issued this evening, the ban has been imposed to maintain public order and ensure the safe movement of people in the affected areas.

The restriction covers several key areas including Kochukhet Road, the stretch from Bijoy Sarani to the Chief Adviser’s Office, Bir Sreshtho Shaheed Jahangir Gate, areas near BAF Shaheen College, Mohakhali Flyover, Sainik Club intersection, Bhashantek, Matikata, ECB Square and adjacent areas.

The ISPR order strictly prohibits rallies, processions, protests, demonstrations and any other form of public gathering until further notice.

Later, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police,DMP also issued a release prohibiting public gatherings in the same locations.
