Officials release video of person of interest in Charlie Kirk assassination.

Charlie Kirk Assassination Updates: Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist and close ally of US President Donald Trump, was shot dead at a Utah college event. President Trump confirmed the news of the death of “great, and even legendary” Kirk. In his address, Trump assured action against those perpetrating political violence.

“My administration will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity and to other political violence, including the organizations that fund it and support it, as well as those who go after our judges, law enforcement officials, and everyone else who brings order to our country,” President Trump said.

A person, who was taken into custody on suspicion of involvement in Kirk’s assassination, has been released, the FBI director Kash Patel said.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) released a new video of Charlie Kirk’s suspected shooter, fleeing the scene of the crime moments after a single bullet pierced through the conservative activist’s neck. In the video, the suspect can be seen running across the roof, dropping over the edge, before entering a wooded area on the Utah Valley University campus after the shooting.

“Around 12 p.m. Mountain Time on September 10, 2025, the subject climbed up to a rooftop; after he shot and killed Charlie Kirk, he jumped off and ran away. He left a gun and ammunition in a wooded area near the university,” the FBI said in a statement.

“Trace evidence collected from the rooftop scene included shoe impressions, a forearm imprint, and a palm print. Anyone with information in this case should call the FBI at 1-800-FBI or visit fbi.gov/utahvalleyshooting,” it added.
