China on Monday reported a further decline in coronavirus cases, with just 12 new cases of which seven cases were from Beijing. The country reported that so far it has tested as many as 8.3 million people in the recent weeks.
The country’s National Health Commission was quoted by the media as saying that new cases in Beijing were down by half from Saturday.
Earlier Beijing had shut a wholesale food market where the virus spread widely earlier in June, closed schools again and locked down some neighbourhoods. Those leaving Beijing are required to have a negative virus test result within the previous seven days.
