Bihar boosts dairy exports. CM flags off Ghee, Gulab Jamun & Makhana shipments to USA, Canada.

In a major boost to the export of dairy products from Bihar, three consignments of Ghee, Gulab Jamun and Makhana worth over 48 lakh rupees were today flagged off to the USA and Canada.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar flagged off the consignments from Patna to their respective destinations. Talking to Akashvani News Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department Dr N. Vijaya Lakshmi said that,

“Today is a big day for the Confederation of Milk Producing Cooperatives (COMFED), which runs business under the flagship of the Sudha brand.” She said, after a fruitful dialogue with export promotion companies, COMFED can achieve the feat.

Dr. Lakshmi said initially 5700 Kg of Ghee and 500 Kg Makhana are being sent to the USA and 5000 Kg of Gulab Jamun to Canada. She said these new initiatives will help to increase the income of farmers and people who are associated with agriculture and allied sectors.
