The 77th anniversary of the martyrdom of Mahatma Gandhi was observed at Noakhali Gandhi Ashram, Bangladesh on Thursday, 30 January. The day started with morning prayer and the guests paid floral tribute to Bapu at Gandhi Memorial Museum.
To pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi, the Gandhi Ashram Trust, Noakhali organised a discussion on the relevance of Mahatma Gandhi in the contemporary world at the Ashram. The discussion meeting was concluded with Ram Dhun, said Raha Naba Kumar, Secretary of Gandhi Ashram Trust in a media release on Thursday.
A large number of community leaders, students, and civil society participated in the program. At Jamalpur Gandhi Ashram, in north Bangladesh, floral tributes were paid on the portrait of Mahatma
Gandhi.
A discussion meeting was held at the Ashram premise to mark the day in which children also took part. Veteran Gandhian Nurjahan Begum was the chief guest on the occasion. Trustee Chapal Sarkar, Hillol Sarkar and local media persons were present on the occasion.
