104 illegal immigrants from US landed at Amritsar.

A US military aircraft, which took off from Texas’s San Antonio ,landed at Amritsar’s Shri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport around 1:55 pm. According to sources, 30 of the deportees are from Punjab, while others are from Chandigarh, Haryana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh.

The Amritsar administration has made all arrangements in coordination with the airport authorities. The verification and background process of all the deportees are underway. This is the first deportation since the new regime took over in the US.

The flight landed at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport amidst tight security from Punjab Police at 1.55pm.

Amritsar airport director, deputy commissioner, commissioner of police, and CIF director had held a meeting and the police barricaded the cargo gate and another entry point at the airport as a part of the security measure.

The administration conducted initial questioning of those deported and made arrangements to send them back to their respective homes.

It was said that no family members of the deportees reached the airport to receive them.

Sources said that after thorough verification of their documents and credentials, along with a medical examination, the deportees will be taken to their respective states and hometowns.
