Traffic on Jammu Srinagar National Highway plying normally amid heavy rains.

Amid heavy rains in the Ramban-Banihal sector of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44)   and inclement weather prevailing across Jammu & Kashmir in general, traffic on the strategic Jammu-Srinagar National Highway is plying normally.

Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that both convoys of the Shri Amarnath Yatra are moving through Ramban district towards Pahalgam and Baltal as usual.

However, given the prevailing inclement weather conditions, the authorities in Rajouri, Reasi and Ramban districts of Jammu division announced the closure of all government and private schools for today.

The educational institutions in Banihal, Khari, Ukhral, and Gool zones of Ramban district shall remain closed today. However, the educational institutions falling under the education zone of Batote and Ramban shall function as per routine. The decision has been taken as a “precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students.

Both convoys of the Shri Amarnath Yatra are moving through Ramban district towards Pahalgam and Baltal as usual, officials said. According to an official, “there are rains in Ramban Banihal sector of NH 44.” Adding that “Highway remains open for traffic amid heavy rains.”
