Over 1.09 Crore Devotees Take Holy Dip at Sangam Ahead of Maghi Purnima Snan.

Over one crore 9 lakh devotees today took a holy dip in the Sangam ahead of the Maghi Purnima Snan tomorrow at the Mahakumbh, Prayagraj. The Snan holds great significance as it marks the end of the special ritual of performing Kalpavas, with the grand festival hosting more than 10 lakh Kalpavasis this year. Several prominent personalities are also taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam in the city. Our correspondent reports that over 45 crore 80 lakh devotees have taken a holy bath so far, and lakhs of devotees are still arriving at the Sangam.

The sacred confluence of the rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati continues to witness an overwhelming surge of faith and devotion. Saints, devotees, Kalpvasis, and pilgrims from all walks of life are taking the holy dip.

In this trend, Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade and Meghalaya Governor C. H. Vijayashankar took a holy dip today at the Triveni Sangam and performed rituals and prayers. In a social media post, Mr. Bagade said the bathing in the Maha Kumbh Snan purifies not only the body but also the soul and helps one connect with the roots of their culture.

Senior BJP leader and Lok Sabha MP Manoj Tiwari also took a holy bath. He told the media that the arrangements here were well-executed and called for more and more people to arrive at the Maha Kumbh.

A delegation of researchers from the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi arrived at the Mahakumbh today. The team has arrived as part of the Kumbh Study Certificate Program and is conducting research on various aspects related to the event. Apart from politicians and government officials, industrialist Mukesh Ambani also took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam along with his family. Actor Vidyut Jamwal took a holy bath as well and said that he had learnt a lot from the spiritual teachers present at the Kumbh.

Despite the constant arrival of devotees, ample arrangements are being made by the police and state authorities. Prayagraj Police Commissioner Tarun Gaba said that traffic plans were made months ago, and are being successfully implemented.

The Maghi Purnima Snan is expected to bring heavy footfall to a grand event that has already witnessed countless devotees from across the world
