In Ladakh, a massive rockfall struck the historical Phuktal Monastery in Zanskar in the early hours yesterday, causing significant damage to its prayer hall and storeroom.
Following the incident, a team was constituted to conduct a thorough assessment of the damage.
The rockfall buried essential food supplies and other commodities stored in the monastery. As an immediate relief measure, essential supplies were provided.
The administration has assured that necessary steps will be taken to restore the monastery and compensate for the losses incurred.
