Dense fog disrupts train services in Delhi-NCR, 25 trains delayed by up to 5 Hours.

The movement of several trains is affected as dense fog has engulfed the Delhi-NCR region, causing low visibility. According to Indian Railways, as many as 25 Delhi-bound trains have been delayed by up to four to five hours.

These include the Farakka Express, Prayagraj Express, Malwa Express, Pooja Express, Tamil Nadu Superfast Express, Padmavat Express, Ashram Express, Purushottam Express, and Karnataka Express. Passengers are advised to check the latest status of the trains before arriving at the station to board them.

Visuals from India Gate showed near-zero visibility in the national capital, with people seeking refuge in night shelters in Safdarjung to escape the harsh weather.

“The people who are taking refuge in the night shelters here are being provided with two-time meals and proper bed and blankets. If there are any medical treatments needed, we take them to AIIMS hospital which is nearby..” said Mr. Singh.

On January 11, light rain was witnessed in the national capital and the temperature dropped to 7.7°C, as per IMD. Meanwhile, New Delhi and the National Capital Region were shrouded in thick fog. Similarly, cities like Kanpur and Gwalior also experienced dense fog.
