Air India Express flight to Bahrain makes emergency landing in Kochi over damaged tyre suspicion.

In Kerala, an Air India Express aircraft bound for Bahrain from Kochi made an emergency landing at the Cochin International Airport soon after take-off this morning, following suspicion that one of its tyres was damaged.

Following this, an emergency was declared at the airport. 108 passengers and eight crew members were on board the flight. The emergency was lifted following the safe landing of the aircraft.

Authorities issued instructions for an emergency landing after parts of the aircraft’s outer tyre layer were found on the runway. The flight, which had departed at 10.45 am, was immediately recalled.

Ahead of the emergency landing, all safety measures, including the deployment of the airport fire and rescue services, were put in place at Nedumbassery Airport.
