Thousands Bid Tearful Farewell to Martyred Havildar Murali Naik in Andhra Pradesh.

Thousands of people, including many from far-off areas, bid a teary farewell to Havildar Murali Naik, a native of Kallitanda village in Sri Satya Sai District of Andhra Pradesh.

He laid down his life in service to the nation. Havildar Murali Naik was martyred in a cross-border firing by the Pakistani forces along the Line of Control on the night of 8th May.

His mortal remains reached his home village last evening, and thousands of people gathered to bid farewell to the fallen hero. The state government announced an ex gratia of 50 lakh rupees, five acres of agricultural land, 300 square yards of plot and a job to the next of kin in his family.

Later in the evening, he was laid to rest with full military honours coupled with State honours. This ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh K Pawan Kalyan, HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh, among others.
