In Jammu and Kashmir, an Army Captain was among two soldiers killed in an IED blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu on Tuesday.
Akashvani correspondent reports that a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast was reported in the Laleali area in the Akhnoor sector during a fence patrol, resulting in two fatalities.
Army troops are dominating the area and search operations are underway. The White Knight Corps salutes and pays tribute to the supreme sacrifice of two gallant soldiers.

The entire nation stands firmly with the family of the martyrs in this hour of grief”.
A Captain rank officer of the Indian army was among two soldiers ‘killed in action’ and three other jawans sustained grievous injuries when a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) was detonated near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu division on Tuesday. The martyred soldiers have been identified as Capt Karamjit Singh Bakshi and Naik Mukesh.

The Army confirmed the fatalities in the blast and said “own troops are dominating the area and search operations are underway”. Confirming the incident, Nagrota-based White Knight Corps posted on X, “Suspected improvised Explosive Device blast reported in Laleali in Akhnoor Sector during a fence patrol resulting in two fatalities. Own troops are dominating the area and search operations are underway”.
However, it was not immediately known who detonated the IED planted along the route of the patrolling party of the Indian army close to the Anti-infiltration Obstacle system (AIOS) in the Laleali area of Akhnoor.
The injured soldiers were airlifted by Indian Army helicopters and shifted to a military hospital for treatment. Two among them succumbed to their fatal injuries in the hospital.
Senior army officers from Akhnoor rushed to the spot to ascertain whether it was the handiwork of the Pakistani army regulars or a group of suspected terrorists, who may have been pushed inside the Indian territory to launch a surprise attack on the Indian army patrol, detonated the IED.
