The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast isolated to scattered rainfall along with thunderstorms, lightning and hailstorms over East India till tomorrow.
The IMD said, hailstorm activity is likely at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha today. It also forecasts a fresh Western Disturbance to affect Northwest India from the night of the 24th of February.
Under its influence, fairly widespread to moderate rainfall or snowfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is expected over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh for the two days from Tuesday.
The IMD further said that dense fog conditions are very likely to prevail during the night and early morning hours in isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh till today and over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till 24th February. It added that maximum temperatures over Northwest India are expected to rise by 2-4 degrees Celsius over the next 4 days, with no significant change thereafter.
