In Jammu & Kashmir, one terrorist was killed after an attack on an Army vehicle in the Akhnoor sector today. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the body of the terrorist, along with weapons, has been recovered.
This came after the terrorists, believed to be number three, opened fire on an ambulance that was part of the army convoy this morning. After the attack, an operation to trace and neutralize the militants was started, and reinforcements were rushed to the area.
“The body of one terrorist along with weapon has been recovered. Operations are under progress,” the Army’s Jammu-based White knight Corps said in an update on the ongoing operation.
The Army personnel in the ambulance had a close shave as the militants, who recently infiltrated into India, managed to escape to a nearby forest in the face of a strong retaliation by the troops, they said.
Security forces are currently engaged in gunfire with the terrorists in the area when the report last came in.
