Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the friendship and closeness between India and Nepal will work for the benefit of entire humanity amid the kind of global situation that is emerging today. Addressing a programme in Lumbini, Nepal on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima, Mr. Modi said, the India-Nepal relationship will work towards solving global problems, with Buddha’s ideologies.
The Prime Minister said, the construction of the Lumbini Museum in Nepal is also an example of Indo-Nepal Cooperation. He said, today, both countries have also decided to establish Dr. Ambedkar Chair for Buddhist Studies in Lumbini Buddhist University. He said, Buddha is the embodiment of the collective understanding of humanity. Mr. Modi expressed confidence that the role India and Nepal’s youth will play in taking the teachings of Buddha to the world.
