IMD forecasts heatwave in Odisha, heavy rain in Arunachal.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heat wave conditions at isolated places over interior Odisha today. Hot and humid conditions are very likely to prevail throughout the day over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.

The weather department also predicted heavy rainfall or snowfall in parts of Arunachal Pradesh till tomorrow. Pockets of Kerala, Mahe, South Interior Karnataka, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim are likely to experience thunderstorms, gusty winds, and lightning today. IMD said places over West Rajasthan can witness dust-raising winds today.

The IMD forecast also predicts heavy snowfall at isolated places in Ladakh today. Arunachal Pradesh is also likely to see heavy rainfall at isolated places.

Karnataka, Kerala, and Mahe will witness light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. The weather patterns have been attributed to a western disturbance as well as an upper air cyclonic circulation over central Pakistan.
